Hi! I'm Katie Ingebretson.

I have over two decades experience attempting to be a part of positive change in the world.

A lot of my current work matches my greatest worldly concern: the climate (both metaphorically and the actual warming climate), and I love helping organizations and companies find ways to realize economic and environmental benefits for communities and people, connecting around local values and trusted messengers.

I come from an organizer background. In the aughts, during the halcyon days of Obama, I managed a region in Iowa for the caucuses, oversaw the largest 2008 primary victory of the campaign in Idaho, and managed the budget and operations buildup of a $100M+ field operations as Deputy Battleground States Director during his re-elect. I joined in the Administration as a Special Assistant at the Pentagon, supporting the Assistant Secretary of Defense for Public Affairs, where I was awarded the Secretary of Defense Award for Outstanding Achievement. While I don't remember the outstanding achievement, I am grateful for the opportunity and resulting plaque.

Since, I’ve worked across for-profit and NGO sectors, supporting strategy and partnerships. Some of this has been in film, finding organic ways in which audiences can connect with causes the medium moves them to through partnerships with international aid organizations, like UNICEF and OXFAM, and military support organizations, like the USO.

I am a sometimes writer (have been recognized by The Hemingway Foundation for my work), poor pianist (I attempt desperate renditions of Bach in my free time), and resident of Los Angeles (though miss my home state of Texas daily). I'm always open to kindred projects and clients.

A community-first approach to helping organizations that want to change the world connect with people who care, but are also busy living their lives.
